Desplazados persist with demands concerning Ley 1448
October 3, 2020, Bogotá, Colombia - Desplazados persist with demands concerning Ley 1448 : On Sep 14, I interviewed these protesters which including 20 representatives from various parts of Colombia who have been camped in front of the Ministerio de Vivienda in the capital, calle 18 just below the séptima. Some two weeks later they can be seen here on the Calle Séptima. They claim they were in the Plaza Bolivar protesting and were forcibly removed and some beaten. They are demanding their rights as respect to Ley 1448. They claim they are being ignored and the prerequisites that the government is demanding are unfair and unworkable. The protesters claim that large amounts of money have been provided to the government to help displaced peoples in Colombia. According to the protesters, these monies have been provided by various countries and the Colombian government does not want to release these funds. The minister has not responded to their demands and has not met with the protesters and the mayor of Bogotá, Claudia Lopez, has also ignored their pleas.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
